Georgia Air Travel Records Increase in First Quarter
The country's airports welcomed more than 1.6 million passengers in the first three months of the year — a 4.3 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025 — Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Tamar Ioseliani confirmed.
The cargo figure stands out as particularly striking, reflecting Georgia's growing role as a regional logistics and transit hub amid shifting global supply chain patterns.
To sustain the upward trajectory throughout the remainder of 2026, aviation authorities are working alongside the National Tourism Administration to actively diversify source markets and reduce dependence on any single travel corridor, Ioseliani said.
The deputy minister struck an optimistic tone on the sector's outlook, stating: "2025 was a record year for Georgia's aviation sector, and we are working actively to maintain this upward trend."
The strong first-quarter results position Georgia as one of the region's fastest-growing aviation markets, with authorities signaling that strategic partnerships and route expansion will remain central to keeping growth on course through the year ahead.
